Abstract

High hospital expenses are associated with the operation and maintenance of medical equipment. Radiographic equipment such as X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT-scan), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are among the most frequently used diagnostic tools in hospitals and significantly contribute to operational expenditures. A quantitative correlational research design was applied using secondary data, collecting data from hospital radiology department records over a specific operational period. Equipment operational hours as variables were analyzed. Statistical analysis was conducted using correlation to determine the relationship between equipment utilization efficiency and cost reduction. Results indicate that although greater equipment use may increase total operational cost, more optimal utilization may improve cost efficiency per diagnostic service. Higher equipment leads to improved cost distribution across diagnostic procedures, thereby enhancing cost efficiency within hospital operations. In conclusion, optimizing the operational hours of radiographic equipment such as X-ray, MRI, and CT-scan plays an important role in improving hospital cost efficiency.
