Abstract

Modern patronage practices often deviate from ethical values, creating power relations fraught with vested interests and undermining the principles of social justice. This phenomenon poses a serious challenge to achieving sustainable economic development. This article examines the desecularization of ethics as a conceptual approach to restoring the role of morality and spirituality in economic practices. Using critical analysis and a philosophical approach, this article highlights the importance of internalizing values such as honesty, responsibility, and self-awareness as a foundation for formulating inclusive economic policies. Desecularization of ethics is seen as a solution to stem destructive patronage while encouraging the creation of a just and sustainable development system based on an Islamic worldview. These findings emphasize that returning to the Islamic worldview as an ethical and moral framework for economic development is not only important but also urgent in today's modern context.
